The Cosburn Park Lawn Bowling Club

(CPLBC) is a non-profit, year-round club dedicated to the sport of Lawn Bowls and social activities.  Located in the former East York area of the City of Toronto, the running of the club is the responsibility of the members.

Cosburn has many quality bowlers who are active in a variety of tournaments from both novice to the Canadian Championships. Cosburn itself presents many fine tournaments. See our in-club sponsored tournaments 2011 schedule.  (When the 2012 schedule is available, it will be put online.) In 2009, both Laila Hassan and Chrystal Shephard earned a bronze medal in the Canadian Championships in Victoria, British Columbia.

The annual tournament for the East York Trophy between Cosburn Park Lawn Bowling Club and the Leaside Lawn Bowling Club was won by Cosburn.

Contact the club for a free lesson for beginners given at the club by an Ontario Lawn Bowls qualified coach.

Cosburn Park Lawn Bowling Club

Opening day is May 12, 2012

In 2009, the CPLBC was an active recreational program for 80 years.  The resurgence of the popularity of Lawn Bowls has already been evidenced by increased membership over the last four years.  In fact, the CPLBC was the first in memberships across the Province of Ontario in 2007.

The CPLBC is one of 140 clubs affiliated with Ontario Lawn Bowls (OLB) which currently has 8,300 members across Ontario.  There are 30 clubs in The Greater Toronto Area alone.

In 2010 season, the Cosburn Park Lawn Bowling Club membership stood at 130 individuals.

As well as maintaining a regular weekly schedule, special events known as Jitneys and Tournaments are held along with  our Open Houses which are conducted to introduce our sport to potential new members.  Open Houses are set up for individuals and also other groups such school classes for example.
Lawn bowling officially begins its schedule on the first Saturday of May. The club schedule runs until Thanksgiving.
